Cravath announced… now it’s Lateral Link’s turn…
We currently have over 100 active jobs in great state of Texas — so many that Lateral Link has decided to bring back your $10,000 Texas Placement Bonus from now until the end of 2016.
Why Texas you might ask? When you factor in the low cost of living, access to big business, and market rate salaries, it’s no wonder Texas is booming. Most firms are relocating, even prior to taking the Texas Bar. Now, with Lateral Link paying $10,000 to successfully placed candidates in the Texas market, it’s clear the real winners of the 2016 Salary Wars are Texas associates (and those on their way).
What will you do with the extra $10K? You could audit Matthew McConaughey’s new film course at the University of Texas, treat yourself to a fancy vacation, or sock it away with the amazing relocation and bonus packages we’ve been seeing.
Here are our Top 5 reasons to make a move to the Lone Star State:
- 60 Am Law 100 firms have a presence in Texas. For those interested in business development and in-house opportunities, there are 54 Fortune 500 companies in Texas, compared to New York’s 55 and edging out California’s 53.
- Austin, Dallas, and Houston regularly rank as top cities for young lawyers, singles, young families, new college grads, and even foodies.
- You can live in a palace. No, really. Real estate in Dallas and Houston is luxurious to say the least, not to mention highly affordable when compared to major coastal cities.
- No state or city income taxes. For those making $180K in NYC, a move to Texas will put an extra $12,000 in your pocket in tax savings alone.
- Texas is home to the Slurpee. Yes, the brain freeze pretty much started here. 7-Eleven’s were founded in Texas in 1927, and Texas businesses are proud of their roots. Plus, we just found you $22K by reading this. Now, that’s a lot of Slurpees.
Bonus: We have also been successful in negotiating signing bonuses of up to six figures for exceptionally credentialed associates. Make that $122,000. You’re welcome, internet.
