Lawyerly Lairs

Lawyerly Lairs: Another Professorial Palace, On The Market For $4.4 Million

This law prof is "something of a legend" -- and his house should be too.

The house sits on less than half an acre of land; you can see from some of the photos that it’s quite close to the adjoining properties. But what has been done with that limited land is impressive. The listing speaks of “landscaped verandas with a living area containing a two-sided fireplace, a cooking and bar area, surrounded by a pool and spa.”

Here’s the living area, which looks inviting — a perfect place for Professor Dorsaneo to grade exams or edit briefs:

If he’s having trouble concentrating, he can help himself to a refreshing (non-alcoholic) beverage:

And take a break by plunging into the whirlpool spa:

Or enjoying a dip in the pool:

I like how the undulating side channel of the pool echoes the curves of the spiral staircase:

It’s a beautiful house, and I’m sure Professor Dorsaneo will miss it. But I suspect that his new Lawyerly Lair will be similarly luxurious.

Why has Professor Dorsaneo put his house on the market? Could he be moving out of Dallas possibly? We reached out to him with an inquiry but did not hear back. For the sake of SMU Law students, though, let’s hope that the legendary “Wild Bill” will continue to grace their classrooms with his presence — even if he can no longer invite them over for pool parties.
