What Have You Done For Your Summer Vacation?

Time for sex on the beach! Whether it's the drink or the act...

Beach sex illegalLawyers aren’t known for taking vacations. According to studies, it’s only getting worse as millennials — contrary to lazy stereotype — are working themselves to the bone. When we wonder about “the struggle” in the legal industry, the fact that lawyers refuse to give themselves the opportunity to unwind is a major contributing factor.

And that’s why this photo contest is so much fun. In late June, the Texas State Bar announced a contest on Twitter, daring lawyers to send in their vacation shots. As they say, “pics or your client can’t blame you for skipping town.”

And, amazingly, lawyers have adopted #lawyervacay to feature their snapshots of rest and relaxation. Whether it’s a grand adventure:

Or a leisurely day around the pool:

Wait, is that Art Briles in the profile pic? Maybe it’s time to change that one….

Many lawyers managed to hit the beach this summer:

Some in far-off lands:

Others didn’t have quite as good a time:

More than one respondent took in some golf:

While another took in some Americana:

If you’ve taken a vacation this summer, what are you waiting for? Post some pics on Twitter, tweet @StateBarOfTexas with #lawyervacay (you can also email them to [email protected]). Let the world know you’ve done your part to recharge your batteries before the final stretch of the billable year!

Let’s help Texas keep this contest growing.
