Somehow a video about Furries made them look more professional.
Whenever a law school ventures into the world of advertising, it’s natural to preemptively wince. It’s just way too easy to go completely off the rails and woefully embarrass your institution.
And yet, somehow UC Hastings did a video with a bunch of Furries and ended up looking better for the effort.

I guess that marketing mission statement committing to “Establish a mascot and slogan that promotes UC Hastings pride and is an easy way for students to identify with each other” fell through. Too bad, because I was feeling pretty good about the Sharks.
It’s a clever ad. Go right up the gut for any prospective student obsessing over some bell or whistle that they’ll never actually take advantage of when they should just go to a law school that, you know, teaches them the profession.
Now… the 56 percent employment score and 23 percent underemployment score aren’t exactly heartening, but maybe with some more students focused on the law instead of their mascot careers they can bring those up.
