ATL's 2016 Holiday Card Contest: The Winner!

Congratulations to the worthy winner of our eighth annual contest!

ATL 8th Holiday Card ContestWell that was exciting, eh? Our 2016 holiday card contest went right down to the wire, and the top two contenders — who blew away the rest of the field — were separated by a mere five votes.[1]

Our newest winner joins the distinguished company of previous holiday card contest winners:

2015: Wolf Greenfield
2014: Haynes & Boone
2013: Akin Gump
2012: Van Winkle Law Firm
2011: Haynes & Boone
2010: Proctor Heyman
2009: Akin Gump

Congratulations to Gowling WLG. This international powerhouse, a product of the merger of Canada-based Gowlings and UK-based Wragge Lawrence Graham, narrowly edged out Wolf Greenfield, the distinguished IP boutique that came this close to defending its title. You can check out Gowling’s winning card — which makes up for what it lacks in edginess by being really, really nice (recall that they’re Canadian) — over here.

It’s nice to see a 2016 election ending on happy and harmonious note. Congrats to all the worthy finalists, and thanks to everyone who nominated a card or voted in the contest. We can’t wait to see what cleverness comes our way in 2017.

[1] As in the past, we did receive reports of technical issues, including the poll not closing on time for some readers. Alas, as we’ve explained in the context of prior contests, we unfortunately lack the ability to prevent all technical problems or to conduct recounts when problems do occur. So we have no choice but to go with what the WordPress poll tells us, relying upon that technology and the honesty of our readers.
