The holidays may be over and the calendar is continuing its steady march with destiny/the end of the world (or as some may know it, the Trump inauguration), but that doesn’t mean all the good times have been sucked dry like the cookies that are still left out for Santa. Naw, there is still bonus money to be distributed. And Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman just dropped its bonus scale on grateful associates.
There isn’t too much surprising in the memo — Kasowitz has met the market scale established back in November by Cravath:
Class of 2016: $15,000
Class of 2015: $15,000
Class of 2014: $25,000
Class of 2013: $50,000
Class of 2012: $65,000
Class of 2011: $80,000
Class of 2010: $90,000
Class of 2009: $100,000
Class of 2008: $100,000
Class of 2007 and above and special counsel: determined on an individual basis

Like lots of firms, there is an hours requirement in order to cash in on the payday, and superstars will see a little something extra in their stocking:
Associates who are in good standing as of the date bonuses will be paid, who worked 2150 hours during 2016 (12/1/2015 through 11/30/2016), and performed in 2016 at a level of quality expected for his/her class year, will receive a full bonus. Attorneys who have made extraordinary contributions during 2016 will receive bonus awards above the benchmark levels.
So, Kasowitz attorneys, how do you feel about the bonuses? Feel free to sound off by email, by text message (646-820-8477), or by tweet (@ATLblog). A fun or insightful response — we’ll keep you anonymous — could find its way into an update to this story.
