How much different really are the attitudes of the current crop of younger law firm associates from their older colleagues? Oh, we know that people on both sides of the “divide” believe they think differently. The young always think they are the first people in the world to have a cogent thought, that’s why being young is fun. Older folks always think the kids don’t know what they’re talking about, that’s why getting older is frustrating. But don’t we all want the same thing, in the end? And isn’t that “thing” to be told by your peers that you’re right and they will listen to you now?

As the final installment in our series of surveys in collaboration with our friends at Major Lindsey & Africa, we want ask those of you working at law firms whether you agree (or not) with some potential truisms of law firm life. Whether it’s “A window is not a luxury” or “Increased associate workloads are justified by the recent salary increases,” we can probably assume a generational gap regarding these statements. Perhaps generations really do differ on their perceptions of reality. Or maybe they’re more similar than we’ve been lead to believe? But we can’t know without asking. Please take 2 minutes and help us find out. Thanks!
