Law Revue Video Contest 2017: Honorable Mentions
They may not have made it to the finals, but they're still worth checking out.
Close, but no cigar. That’s the theme of this post. We get lots of entries for our annual law revue contest, but we know not all of them are going to be winners. However, we still want to reward a solid effort, and so, we present the couldas, wouldas, and shouldas that are this year’s honorable mentions.
Also, don’t forget to vote for your very favorites. FYI, Columbia Law is currently ahead by about 300 votes!
1. George Washington Law — Make Bank
Curbing Client And Talent Loss With Productivity Tech
GW Law gives us a parody of Bang Bang by Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J. The conceit of the video is while the Biglaw payday is sweet, it leaves you no time to enjoy it, so the public interest life is the way to go. A familiar, or perhaps more generously, time-tested premise. But there is still some innovation — the makeup that opens the song is fantastic.
2. NYU Law — Sucks To Be Me

AI Presents Both Opportunities And Risks For Lawyers. Are You Prepared?
In this video, NYU Law parodies all the myriad of ways it sucks to be a law student set to, unsurprisingly, Sucks To Be Me from the Broadway musical Avenue Q. Whatever your law school experience, I’m sure you’ll find a line or two in there that you can relate to.
3. University of Virginia Law — Seasons of Cash
Oh, look! It’s a Seasons of Love parody. That’s… pretty much an annual tradition around these parts. But at least they’re singing about cold, hard cash. That’s gotta bring a smile to everyone’s face.
