File this under: “Prelude to Revolution.” From The Root:
Brianna Rae Brochu, 18, was arrested Saturday and is facing charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace after police say she boasted about rubbing used tampons on her black roommate’s bag and contaminating her eating utensils, toothbrush and other beauty products, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Law Firm’s Guide To Trust Accounting And Three-Way Reconciliation
Proper trust accounting and three-way reconciliation are essential for protecting client funds and avoiding serious compliance risks. In this guide, we break down these critical processes and show how legal-specific software can help your firm stay accurate, efficient, and audit-ready.
The roommate, Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe, only became aware of the bio-terrorism when she became sick, moved out, and was told that her roommate was boasting about getting rid of her. In an Instagram post, Brochu allegedly wrote:
“Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!! After 1 1/2 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons [on] her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie.”
After being alerted to the Instagram post, Rowe went to University of Hartford officials, and West Hartford police, who promptly did… nothing at all. In fact, Rowe claims that University asked her to sign a “no contact” agreement, promising SHE wouldn’t talk to her alleged attacker about the incident. Rowe claims that the school threatened to expel her if she confronted her nasty former roommate.
It was only after Rowe explained the situation on Facebook Live that action was taken.

Reasoning, Tool Calling, And Agentic Systems In Legal LLMs

And I find the “action” underwhelming. Criminal mischief and breach of the peace? This white girl used BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS to POISON her roommate, just because her roommate was black. We live in a world where if a roommate outs another roommate who then kills himself, they go to jail. We live in a world where if a girl texts another person to kill himself, and they do, the girlfriend goes to jail. And you’re telling me that Brochu is going to get off with, like, probation, just because Rowe had the good sense to LEAVE instead of killing herself?
Do I even need to point out that when the victims of roommate bullying are white, the authorities seem increasingly eager to throw the book at the perpetrators. But when the victims are black the response tends to be “aww, the kid made a mistake”?
Now that’s there’s outrage, now the University of Hartford has decided to expel the attacker.
I am tired, y’all. Weary. There is no expression of racism so low that a white person won’t resort to it. And no application of racism so heinous that the system will change itself to prevent. I fear, everyday, what you people will do to my children.
