Another Elite Law School Eyes GRE For Admissions
Is the GRE expanding its footprint to Greenwich Village?
In recent months, the Law School has been considering amending our admissions policy to permit applicants to rely on the GRE in lieu of the LSAT, as some of our peer schools have begun to do. To aid our analysis, we are undertaking a study to examine the effectiveness of using the GRE in our admissions process.
To carry out this study, we need your help. We have reason to believe that you have a valid GRE score, and we are asking you to share your score(s) with our Office of JD Admissions. There will be no monetary cost to you, and your score(s) will be used only for the purposes of our study.
If you have received a GRE score since July 2012, please follow the directions on the attached document to permit ETS, which administers the GRE, to share your GRE score(s) with NYU Law. If you have multiple GRE scores, we ask that you submit all of them.

To avoid being charged a fee for the score report, please contact Eviana Bell([email protected]) in the Office of JD Admissions to obtain an Additional Score Report (ASR) voucher code. You will enter the ASR voucher code as indicated in Step 8 of the attached instruction sheet.
NYU Law is mindful of its responsibility to ensure that we enroll students who are capable of excelling in the legal profession and employs a holistic application review process which includes consideration of a range of factors in addition to test scores. We consider any change in our admission policy and practices very carefully. We thank you in advance for your assistance as we explore the possibility of amending our policies to accept the GRE.
Sincerely,
Cassandra T. Williams
