Northwestern Students Get A Delicious Taste Of 'Masterpiece Cakeshop' Case

This may be the closest some students will ever get to a Supreme Court case.

If you’re in charge of planning an event at your law school, you know well by now that if you don’t serve food, or if the food that you’re serving isn’t very good, the attendance is going to be less than what you’d hoped. Last week, students at Northwestern’s Center for Legal Studies were able to literally sink their teeth into a case that’s got the entire country talking.

On Friday afternoon, the school hosted a panel featuring Professor Anthony Michael Kreis of Chicago-Kent Law and Elissa Jeffers of Lambda Legal, who discussed the possible implications of the Masterpiece Cakeshop case. While we’re sure that the conversation was thought-provoking, what we’re more concerned with here is the genius who decided to serve this amazing cake during the event. Check it out:

Yes, that’s a copy of the writ for certiorari printed on the cake. This may be the closest some students will ever get to a Supreme Court case. We hope it was as delicious as it looks — and that the case’s isn’t as half-baked as some legal analysts think it will be.
