The injury came to light during today’s Supreme Court proceedings, proceedings that brought a few other surprises, with Justice Gorsuch joining the liberals to create a 5-4 majority in Sessions v. Dimaya, a formerly deadlocked 4-4 for the period we call the “McConnell Interregnum” and issuing a customarily snarky jab at the other side, specifically Justice Thomas, in the process.
But the big news was Justice Sotomayor’s injury. Or should we say, “latest injury.” As Tony Mauro points out:

➤➤ In April 2014, Sotomayor tripped on a sidewalk in New York City and broke four bones in her hand. She wore a cast on her forearm and hand.
Perhaps she needs to take due care the next time she tries to commute.

In case you’re wondering, Justice Sotomayor is right-handed.
