Michael Cohen is just the gift that keeps on giving to legal gossip.
Yesterday was a big day in the legal saga of Michael Cohen. S.D.N.Y. Judge Kimba Wood held another hearing to hash out how exactly the materials seized from the Trump Organization lawyer would be handled. The seemingly big news from that hearing was the appointment of a special master. Former federal judge Barbara Jones, now a partner at Bracewell, has been tasked with deciding which materials seized are subject to the attorney-client privilege. Then there was Donald Trump’s impromptu call to Fox and Friends that accidentally sided with prosecutors’ interpretation of the materials seized.

But the real nugget of interesting info came from assistant US Attorney Thomas McKay. He revealed that the FBI seized 16 old cell phones from Cohen. That includes two old school Blackberries, seeming to indicate there’s a potential treasure trove of old secrets locked away in those phones.
Michael Avenatti — Stormy Daniels’s attorney — knows what’s up. These phone could have devastating implications for Cohen and anyone he’s close to, which, bears repeating, includes the President of the United States.
Most interesting fact from today’s hearing IMO – FBI imaged 16 (by my count) cell phones and blackberries seized in MC raids. Usually not a good sign when the target appears to have saved old phones and there are that many phones recovered. BIGLY bad…for many. #basta

The mere thought that Donald Trump could be undone by an old Blackberry Cohen kept lying around is simultaneously too ridiculous for words and yet absolutely perfect. Someone pass the popcorn.
