Subject: July 2018 CA Bar Exam: Examplify Alert for MacBook Users

The Committee of Bar Examiners (Committee) has been advised by ExamSoft that the new 2018 version of MacBook Pro that came out on July 12th includes a number of changes to the underlying operating system’s features. ExamSoft has identified that Examplify is unable to support this new device at this time. Exam Takers using the new MacBook Pro will receive an error when opening Examplify and attempting to register alerting them that they are using a virtual machine even though they are not. Please note this only affects the new 2018 MacBook Pro and is not related to the Mac OS X 10.13.6. Users on other devices using 10.13.6 can use Examplify as expected. The model number for each variation of the new 2018 MacBook Pro begins with the characters ‘MR9’.
