I know — when news broke that Ruth Bader Ginsburg had cancerous growths in her lungs removed, we all panicked. After the traumatic and ultimately impotent fight against President Donald Trump’s last Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, no person left of Pinochet is interested in giving Trump another chance of leaving his mark on the high court. But RBG, who has already beaten cancer twice, isn’t going down without a fight.
According to reports, RBG cast her vote in Trump v. E. Bay Santuary Conv from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York as she was preparing for her surgery. In the case, Chief Justice John Roberts joined RBG and the other three liberal justices in the majority denying the Department of Justice’s appeal of the Ninth Circuit’s ruling stopping the implementation of the administration’s new asylum policy which seeks to limit the ways to apply for asylum.
Cancer isn’t about to stop RBG from protecting democracy from the whims of our orange president.
