When a self-described broke law student missed her flight and found herself stranded in the airport for four hours, she decided to throw herself a dance party and invite the rest of the world to watch. So she cued up the Hall & Oates and filmed herself dancing all over the airport, creating a breathtaking finished statement capturing the isolation and loneliness of the unanchored limbo state of a layover trapped in the austere corporate banality of an airport — really a metaphor for the position of the human subject in late-stage capitalism — with sharp commentary on the way nostalgia is commodified as a latter-day opiate of the masses.
Or maybe she was just goofing around in the airport. It’s one or the other.

Wait, why is there a fucking cat in the airport. This is a problem isn’t it? I’ve got no problem with cats, but aren’t there people in this world with severe allergies to cats? They surely can’t be in the main cabin with all that recycled air torturing allergic passengers. Are they just in the airport as some sort of “stress relief” business, because that sounds like the worst. Are people just smuggling cats now that TSA is on shutdown break? So many questions!
This performance is certainly an impressive effort for a bored passenger, but there’s a better way to wile away 4 hours in an airport and it’s called a bar.
