Our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
Today, we’ve got some unfortunate news from the law school community in New York, where a rising third-year law student was killed while on his way to study for his last final of the semester.
David Ferraro, a student at St. John’s University School of Law, was riding his motorcycle to meet his girlfriend and a classmate at the law library to study when he was involved in a fatal accident. The New York Daily News has the details:

Ferraro, 26, was riding his 2005 Aprilia motorcycle north on the Van Wyck Expressway in Ozone Park about 10:30 a.m. when a 2014 Honda CRV switching lanes hit him near exit 3, police said.
The impact sent the bike hurtling into a curb and threw Ferraro from the seat.
Medics rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, but he could not be saved.
“David was a very smart, intelligent person. He was respectful almost all the time,” said his father, former New York state assemblyman and borough GOP party chairman Arnaldo Ferraro, in an interview with the New York Post. “He was a good boy. Very good boy,” said his grieving mother, Jean.
We here at Above the Law would like to extend our condolences to David Ferraro’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
