Having It All: Attorney, Author, Speaker, And Activist

A chat with Robyn Gigl.

In the latest episode of The Jabot podcast, I talk with author and lawyer Robyn Gigl, who has a legal thriller being released the end of March – By Way for Sorrow. We talk about Robyn’s longtime dream of being an author, and how she balanced her legal practice with writing. We also delve into Robyn’s process for developing the characters in her novel. And she has tips for aspiring writers out there. In addition to being a lawyer and a writer, Robyn’s also a speaker and activist who was honored by the ACLU-NJ and the NJ Pride Network for her work on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community. We talk about her activism and being one of the founding members of the Trans Affirming Alliance.

The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand focused on the challenges women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. Our name comes from none other than the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when delivering dissents from the bench. It’s a reminder that even when we aren’t winning, we’re still a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Happy listening!
