2021 U.S., U.K., Luxembourg and Hong Kong Associate Special Bonuses

In recognition of your continued hard work, I am pleased to announce that the firm will pay special bonuses to all eligible U.S., U.K., Luxembourg and Hong Kong associates in good standing on the date of payment (excluding temporary and contract attorneys).

Associates at or above an annualized hours threshold of 1850 hours will be eligible for these bonuses, which will be made as two payments – on July 1, 2021 based on annualized hours as of May 31, 2021; and on or about October 1, 2021, based on annualized hours as of August 31, 2021. The firm will calculate annualized hours for the purpose of this special bonus using the same methods used for January ARC bonuses.

- Associates employed at the firm as of May 31, 2021 will be eligible for the special bonus paid on July 1, 2021. Associates who join the firm between April 1, 2021 and May 31, 2021 will be eligible for this bonus regardless of their annualized hours.
- Associates employed at the firm as of August 31, 2021 will be eligible for the special bonus paid on or about October 1, 2021. Associates who join the firm between July 1, 2021 and August 31, 2021 will be eligible for this bonus regardless of their annualized hours.
- For these special bonus payments only, there will be no pro-rations for new joiners who commenced employment during fiscal year 2021, as well as no pro-rations for flex-time schedules and/or leaves of absence. Customary pro-rations for hire, flex-time schedules and leaves of absence will be applied to the ARC bonus in January 2022.
- Special bonus payments for associates outside of the United States will be converted from USD to local currency approximately at the time of payment. Special bonuses for associates in the Paris and Frankfurt offices will be announced separately.

Counsel at or above an annualized hours threshold of 1750 hours will be eligible for these bonuses, which will be made as two payments – on July 1, 2021 based on annualized hours as of May 31, 2021; and on or about October 1, 2021, based on annualized hours as of August 31, 2021. The firm will calculate annualized hours for the purpose of this special bonus using the same methods used for January ARC bonuses.

Science advisors at or above an annualized hours threshold of 1750 hours; science law clerks in night school at or above an annualized hours threshold of 1600 hours; and science law clerks in day school at or above an annualized hours threshold of 1280 will be eligible for these bonuses, which will be made as two payments – on July 1, 2021 based on annualized hours as of May 31, 2021; and on or about October 1, 2021, based on annualized hours as of August 31, 2021. The firm will calculate annualized hours for the purpose of this special bonus using the same methods used for January bonuses.
