It’s been almost three weeks since Freshfields became the first Magic Circle firm to join the latest round of special bonuses. But with Allen & Overy joining the bunch yesterday, associates are noting “a little late to the game but better late than never!”
Indeed, you could have gotten a hat.
So what we have here is a backloaded June and “Fall” bonus.

What does “Fall” mean? It’s unclear. June isn’t exactly crystal clear either, with the memo only saying that the firm anticipates bonuses will be paid by June 30. For a firm that’s had three weeks to consider what its peers are doing, you’d think they’d have worked out more of the logistical kinks.
