Superlawyer Jenna Ellis Decries Chauvin Conviction On Charges Of ‘Emotional Corporate Automatic Guilt’

Gotta hand it to her, she's committed to the bit!

How exactly do you thought crime someone to death?

Dunno, but check out this amazing word salad from the former president’s “constitutional lawyer” Jenna Ellis.

“According to Joe Biden, Maxine Waters, BLM incorporated and other leftists, the facts don’t matter and true meaningful justice has been reinvented to mean social justice, the political and cultural retribution for viewpoint sins of the day,” Ellis noted somberly to Real America’s Voice, a “news” channel parked somewhere in the hinterlands of your cable box.

There have been a whole lot of bad takes on the Derek Chauvin conviction yesterday — lookin’ at you, Dersh! — but suggesting that George Floyd was “viewpoint sinned” to death is a new one. But in the opinion of the country’s most famous traffic lawyer, Americans who looked at the video of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes and 29 seconds and demanded justice have irretrievably short-circuited the entire legal process.

“Derek Chauvin had already been convicted in the court of public opinion as early as last summer, and it doesn’t matter to the left that our justice system requires the state to prove each and every element of the alleged offense beyond any and all reasonable doubt,” she continued woodenly. “It only matters that the nation is emotionally and politically charged.”

Was the nation on edge because “the left” demanded that the state of Minnesota deprive Chauvin of his due process rights by… <checks notes>… putting him on trial before a jury of his peers? Or was it because we had to watch yet another video of a black person being brutalized by the very people paid to protect us? It’s a tossup!

An astute observer might note that Ellis has tiptoed gingerly around the fact that the conduct alleged here left a man lying dead in the street. Instead she blathered incoherently about “emotional, corporate” crimes based on Chauvin’s whiteness.

Derek Chauvin is White, George Floyd is Black so Chauvin is implicitly and automatically guilty of racism. so he must be punished. He must be made to pay for the sins of white people collectively. Social justice ignores the rule of law in favor of the rule of emotional, corporate, automatic guilt.

Ughhhh, who doesn’t hate those emotional corporations, always doing crimes? It’s a menace!

But even Jenna Ellis had to tap out eventually, conceding in the end that there was a trial during which the prosecution was obliged to prove every element of the “very specific set of crimes” alleged. Ellis studiously avoided describing those crimes in detail, although she was forced to acknowledge the reality that the jury unanimously (and rapidly) agreed that the prosecution met its burden.

“Chauvin was not on trial for being white, the alleged sins of every slave owner in American history, or the perceived systematic racism of America. Chauvin was on trial for a very specific set of crimes. He was found guilty on all charges,” she admitted, before going on to insist that there must have been undue influence on the jury.

“But does anyone really think the jury was not influenced by the social justice warriors?” she wondered, offering no evidence beyond Rep. Maxine Waters’ calls for justice.

Would that make Maxine Waters an emotional corporate criminal? Only the nation’s finest legal minds can tell!
