The First Major Biglaw Firm To Match The New Davis Polk Salary Scale

It's time for more money at this leading law firm.

Time is money billable hoursWell, well, well, it looks like we’ve got our first Davis Polk match. The market is already moving quickly in response to DPW’s move to increase salaries for midlevels and senior associates.

Buckle up, Biglaw, because we’re about to see some match mania.

Back in January, McDermott Will & Emery was the second firm to match Milbank, and last night, just a few short hours after Davis Polk finally made its announcement, the firm stepped up to match the new market standard. Which other firms will be this quick to re-raise or match the compensation leader? We’ll have to wait and see, but we can’t imagine we’ll be waiting too long.

Here’s what the new salary scale looks like at McDermott:
