Norton's Salary Increases Are Missing Something Very Important

Where is my additional money?!

GreedThere are two things lawyers do not play with: their money and double spacing, apparently. Norton Rose Fulbright is a Biglaw firm that does a great job of minding its Ps and Qs, but it seems like a little is missing from their employees’ paychecks. You see, Norton just increased their salaries!

Norton Just Raises

But… that’s about it. Now, I know what follows is obviously inappropriate and hearkens back to a less-enlightened era… but it’s too spot on to not ask the question:

Did no one in Norton’s corner offices catch that — I don’t know — Cravath, Milbank, Skadden, and most of the other major players are bumping up salaries and bonuses? You’d think a law firm would do a better job of paying attention to detail. And it isn’t like they can’t afford it; the firm cleared a whopping $6,514,300,000 in gross revenue last year. It’s also worth mentioning that the firms seems to have left their St. Louis and Minneapolis attorneys out. Don’t be a miser and spread the wealth, would you?
