Subject: Associate and Special Counsel Salary Increases and Year-End Bonuses
Dear Colleagues,
As we near the end of a successful year for the Firm, I would like to thank each of you for all you do to make Baker Botts an extraordinary law firm.
In recognition of your continued dedication to outstanding client service, I am pleased to announce that associates and special counsel in our U.S. offices will receive year-end bonuses according to the following scale, subject to the Firm’s productivity and performance requirements:

| 2020 | $57,500 |
| 2019 | $75,000 |
| 2018 | $90,000 |
| 2017 | $105,000 |
| 2016+ | $115,000 |
To be eligible for these bonuses, full-time associates and special counsel must (a) be in good standing and actively employed at the Firm on the date of payment and (b) meet or exceed Firm client billable and bonus-eligible hours targets for the bonus calculation period (December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2023), subject to applicable Firm policies.
I am also pleased to announce that the Firm will provide enhanced bonuses for exceptional contributions as may be applicable.
Consistent with our bonus policies, bonuses for associates and special counsel practicing outside the U.S. will be determined on an individual basis, and all bonuses will be pro-rated for those who started at the Firm in 2023 and for those with alternative work arrangements.
As part of our continuing commitment to rewarding exemplary service and providing highly competitive compensation for our talent, effective January 1, 2024, the Firm will be increasing the base salaries of our U.S. associates in good standing based on the following scale:

Salary increases for special counsel will be determined and communicated individually. Any revisions to the non-U.S. associate salary scale will be communicated separately.
