Not everyone is following the minutia of the Trump hush money trial. And that’s fair — the proceedings aren’t being televised, so most are dependent on transcripts and reporters’ perceptions to figure out what’s happening. Plus there’s already been four weeks of testimony, the majority of which has been fairly dry, befitting a financial records case. The notable exception has been the testimony of Stormy Daniels.
Daniels’s testimony was filled with details about her affair with Donald Trump. While not directly related to the financial crimes alleged in the case, in opening arguments, Trump’s attorneys asserted he never had a sexual relationship with Daniels. That opened the door for Daniels to testify about the affair to rehabilitate her credibility.
On the second day of Daniels’s testimony, during the cross examination by Susan Necheles, things got decidedly uncomfortable. Necheles’s questions were frankly out of pocket — they were slut shaming and seemed to imply that because Daniels worked in the adult film industry, it’s impossible that she could also be a victim. While Daniels held her own with a series of comebacks, it was a terrible look for Necheles.

And that wasn’t the only problem with Necheles’s performance. When Judge Juan Merchan rejected the defense’s motion for a mistrial based on the content of Daniels’s testimony, he called out the lack of objections made by Necheles. The attention Necheles has received has made a dent on her online reviews.
As first discovered by Above the Law founder David Lat, her Google reviews have become a sparring ground for critics of the former president. Take a gander at some of the one-star reviews Necheles is racking up:
She’s a LAWYER representing a presidential nominee who has vowed to ABOLISH THE CONSTITUITION. Don’t worry he says he’ll only do it for a day. His justification is widespread voter fraud that he failed to produce any evidence of in over SIXTY TRIALS. Including multiple TRUMP APPOINTED JUDGES.
I hope the money was worth it.
And:
She picks the worst clients (i.e. Trump) Good luck getting paid! ???
To be fair, there are some recent five-star reviews too —
Awesome lawyer. I attempted a coup in my south American island nation and she helped me avoid prison. She was savvy enough to get me an escape plane in which I could load in my gold bars so I could be safe in Miami. Would recommend to any would-be dictator.
But come to think of it, that might not help her reputation much.
