An ex-IT employee was indicted in May on three counts of larceny for stealing nearly $70,000 from the law school where he worked, and earlier this week, he was arraigned for his five-figure financial heist.
Gareth Flanagan, 52, formerly of New England Law|Boston, stands accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the school’s Amazon account. He allegedly did this between 2020 and 2022, taking a total of about $68,000. According to authorities, Flanagan used the account to purchase music equipment for his band, “Sloth Machine.” He admitted to the unauthorized purchases after being confronted by an external auditor for the school, claiming he was “testing” the equipment.
