Seems like a silly way to lose your law license.

Police in Essex, England are on the hunt for Kerry Stevens. The now former solicitor is being sought by police as part of Operation Raker, targeting theft and public order crimes, after allegedly failing to pay taxi and restaurant bills and not complying with the terms of her bail.

Stevens was struck off of the solicitor rolls earlier this year as reported by Legal Cheek. That was related to two incidents in 2020 and 2021, where she dined and dashed out of a restaurant leaving a £60.91 bill, and ordering food delivery and taking the £43.47 worth of food without paying the driver.

Stevens, along with partner Daniel Alani, were released on conditional bail until July. They’ve failed to answer that bail. According to a force spokesman, “Officers are looking to speak to them in connection with ongoing investigations into incidents where individuals are reported to have failed to pay for taxi fares and restaurant bills, as well as a failure to answer police bail.”
