As Clarence Thomas prepares for the grand unveiling of his new portrait, it’s increasingly likely that the justice hopes to clinch the title as America’s longest serving Supreme Court justice. That record is currently held by Justice William O. Douglas. Presently, Thomas is the 10th longest serving justice. Thomas won’t reach the Douglas milestone until roughly mid-2028, but he will match the next person on the list in a little over six months. Who will Thomas overtake next?

Hint: When it came time to portray this justice on film, the role went to the Supreme Court justice who inherited this man’s seat on the bench.
