Three new defendants have been added to People v. The Trump Organization, Inc., DJT Holdings LLC, DJT Holdings Managing Member LLC, Seven Springs, LLC, Eric Trump, Charles Martabano, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and Sheri Dillon, and they are Donald J. Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.

The New York Times broke the news this morning that the state Attorney General subpoenaed Don Jr. and Ivanka to testify in the investigation of the Trump Organization. The paper was first to flag an order signed today by Justice Arthur Engoron scheduling motions to quash subpoenas for the executives.

Trump’s three eldest children have made their careers at his eponymous company, and so are logical targets of subpoenas about possible hinky real estate valuations and tax dodges. The youngest of the three, Eric Trump, made his own subpoena public when he resisted compliance last year, only to be ordered by Justice Engoron to start talking.

Then Young Eric, whom no one has accused of being the brightest bulb in the Trump bunch, “Streisand Effect”-ed this case into the public eye by hopping on Sean Hannity’s telenovela “The Creaky and the Aggrieved” to whine about being subpoenaed to death every day.

Presumably you’ll see Don Jr. yammering about the unfairness of it all on Fox this evening.

The former president himself was subpoenaed to testify this Friday, January 7. Naturally he responded by filing a claim in federal court asking US District Judge Brenda K. Sannes to declare the NYAG investigation illegal because NYAG Tish James doesn’t like Trump. Presumably this would involve divesting Justice Engoron of jurisdiction, because, sure, why the hell not?

Motions to quash are to be filed imminently, with an expedited briefing schedule which should conclude in early February.
