The day we knew would come at last, has come at last: Ginni Thomas is testifying before the January 6th Committee. Today. This is some exciting ish for the legal nerds out there, even if we’re unlikely to know what she said for some time.
Why would the wife of a Supreme Court justice be testifying in front of the Committee, you may ask? Well, Ginni is SO MUCH MORE than a WAG. Ginni Thomas is a far-right political operative who worked her tail off in the wake of Election 2020. See, Ginni was among those who refused to accept that Donald Trump lost. So, she sent a series of text messages to Mark Meadows, Trump’s Chief of Staff. She blasted Arizona representatives, begging them to overturn the results of the election. She corresponded with Coups 4 Dummies lawyer John Eastman. And she also pestered Wisconsin lawmakers over the election as well.

(Oh, don’t worry, despite all this Clarence Thomas still heard a case about the January 6th committee — and shockingly! — he was the lone dissent when the Court rejected Trump’s efforts to block the release of presidential records to the committee. Gotta love the Supreme Court’s complete lack of ethical standards.)
Now the time has come, and she’s speaking with the Committee today.
