Hey gumshoes! If you were wondering what Carmen Sandiego’s been up to these days, apparently she’s taken her diabolical crime spree to UVA Law School. Tipsters inform us that the school’s bronze statue of one of its most famous alums, Bobby Kennedy, has up and disappeared.
We have a sad image of the empty tribute:

AI Is Reshaping Legal Practice—But Tools Aren’t The Real Differentiator.
Explore the mindset, cultural shifts, and training strategies that define the AI‑savvy lawyer, revealing why human judgment, standardized competence, and integrated learning—not technology alone—will shape the future of the profession.
From what we’re hearing, no one — among the students, anyway — really knows who took it or why. Let’s hope this isn’t some elaborate viral marketing for UVA’s impending Law Revue contest entry.
Assuming this is a straight-up theft, then the “why” isn’t that difficult to grasp — being a dick is motivation enough for a crime like this. But it’s hard to believe UVA doesn’t have some sort of security around its publicly displayed art to answer the question of “who” nabbed the statue. But apparently not…
This definitely occurred Sunday night, as I saw it as I left the library to go watch UVA lose to Syracuse. Otherwise I have no idea how or why it was stolen. I doubt that a student would have done this… My speculations would be that someone hid in one of the rooms in the library until it closed for the night and everyone left (this would be sometime after midnight) and then tore RFKs head off the pedestal. There aren’t security cameras that would have caught the act. A month ago someone stole a piece of artwork from the library and they never caught that person either.
A veritable crime spree! Lock down that transcript paper.
Schenck Price Competes Smarter With Lexis+ With Protégé
LexisNexis sat down with John Ursin, Managing Partner at Schenck Price, to learn how the firm is using legal AI to strengthen client service and daily legal work.
If you’re not going to have security cameras, then the school could at least have a bronze statue of bodyguard Rosie Greer right next to RFK looking on helplessly.
Too soon?
If you have any leads on this, let the school know.
