Has President The Usurped Congress’s Constitutional Power?

That’s the question for tonight’s public policy debate hosted by Intelligence Squared U.S. Remember when the president said, “We can’t wait for Congress to do its job, so where they won’t act, I will”? Well, the folks arguing for tonight’s resolution certainly do!

Tonight’s debate features Stanford Law Professor Michael McConnell, the director of the Constitutional Law Center, and Carrie Severino, Chief Counsel & Policy Director of the Judicial Crisis Network, arguing that President Obama has overstepped his bounds, arguing against Professor Adam Cox of NYU Law and Professor Eric Posner of the University of Chicago School of Law arguing that President Obama has not.
