On Monday, we asked readers to submit possible captions for this picture of an egregious typo sent out by the admissions office of the St. Thomas University School of Law (click on the image to enlarge it):
Let’s have a look at what our readers came up with, and vote on the finalists….
AI Is Killing Legal’s Billable Hour. It’s Also Repeating Its Worst Mistake
Law firms and legal departments are writing the future of the profession in separate rooms. What happens when they actually work together?
This Caption Contest wasn’t our strongest — perhaps because, as “Freelance Philosopher” observed in the comments, no caption is really needed (a sentiment also expressed by entry G below). Anyway, here are the entries we selected as finalists (which happened to be the ones with the most “likes” from readers in Disqus):
A. I couldn’t find the typo until I enlarged the image and could see that St. Thomas claims to be a School of Law.
B. Snaps**t for a day; eat s**t for a lifetime.
C. Pictured: Those employed at graduation.
D. The typo must be the palm trees in front of a school located in Minneapolis.
E. Threesome guaranteed. Foursome likely. Do you really care that we are a TTT?
F. Snaps**t – Snapchat’s new platform for unemployed lawyers.
G. Res ipsa loquitur.
And here’s the poll:
AI Is Reshaping Legal Practice—But Tools Aren’t The Real Differentiator.
Explore the mindset, cultural shifts, and training strategies that define the AI‑savvy lawyer, revealing why human judgment, standardized competence, and integrated learning—not technology alone—will shape the future of the profession.
