Say you are a Harvard Law graduate who had a successful run in finance at Goldman Sachs, and you’ve been recently fired (in a high-profile manner, natch) from a job you weren’t qualified for… What’s next for you? If you’re Anthony Scaramucci, the answer is to create a media company, the Scaramucci Post. Sure, at launch in September, the Mooch has “absolutely no idea” what it would be, but hey! The Mooch is a shark and sharks only move forward.
In any event, the next bit of publicity for the fledgling media company came this morning when they tweeted out the… exact opposite of an innocuous question, asking their followers to opine on how many Jews were killed during the Holocaust.

In case you’ve recently been struck by amnesia and have forgotten this huge bit of history, that is not in any way up for debate — ~6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis.
The reaction to the post was swift, and this form of Holocaust denial was quickly shut down.

And taken down by the Scaramucci Post, who also said the poll was created and posted by a staffer, without The Mooch’s approval. But that’s the problem with having your name emblazoned on everything — even if you don’t think you’re at fault, you’re still implicated.

Well, at least the majority of poll takers got the answer right. Though that 21 percent that believe fewer than 1 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust is beyond disturbing.
An excuse and apology were proffered (though probably not accepted).

Now we are left wondering, what exactly is the plan for Scaramucci’s (the person, not the enterprise) next act? Because not having a plan has only led to embarrassment — you’d think after even a brief tenure in the president’s employ he’d have enough of that for a while. That’s the problem with the modern right wing. Even if you have no intention of engaging in some light Holocaust denial, without a clear and contrary agenda, that’s the kind of swill that is so prevalent — yes, even though it’s 2017 — that it gets sucked into your brand.
