There is a sense, living in New York, that one of these days, they’re going to get us on our way to work. You don’t really think about it because commuting is really terrible enough. And you’re cognizant that you are more likely to die because the MTA can’t maintain the tracks or because the homeless guy is off his meds than because terrorists think Christmas decorations are up too early. Still, one day, they’ll get us where we’re vulnerable.
