Harvard Law Students Push For Change… Get Rejected

Whoever heard of an 'LL.B.-Advantage' job?

The first effort to fully replace the LL.B. with a juris doctor degree came in the form of a 1902 Harvard Law student petition. The idea was rejected. Which law school awarded the first J.D.?

Hint: Harvard had actually proposed the J.D. in the late 1800s, but never got off the ground. Ultimately, Harvard wouldn’t switch to the J.D. until 1969.
