This Judge’s Reaction When She Hears What This Prosecutor Did…

She is definitely not happy.

Amber Guyger is a former Dallas cop who is on trial for the murder of her neighbor. I suppose this is where we have an obligation to state the obvious fact that Amber is a white lady and her neighbor was a black guy. You might recall this case when it first came to light because of the bizarre fact pattern — Guyger returned home from her shift and busted into her neighbor’s apartment thinking it was hers and then allegedly — which we are still saying despite ample contemporaneous recordings of Guyger saying that she shot him — shot the actual resident.

True to form, Guyger had her priorities straight in the immediate aftermath of shooting someone in cold blood:

The recording of the 911 call was previously obtained by a Dallas TV station. In the call, Guyger says “I thought it was my apartment” nearly 20 times. She also says: “I’m gonna lose my job” and “I am going to need a supervisor.”

Wow.

As one might suspect, this trial is generating a lot of attention, which is why Judge Tammy Kemp is taking steps to tamp down on the media circus that could undermine the solemnity of the proceedings. Among other edicts, she has prohibited the parties from talking to the media. So imagine her surprise when she learns that the DA went out and did a TV interview the day before the trial.

Actually, you don’t need to imagine because her it is:

Thankfully for the prosecutors, the jurors hadn’t seen the interview so the DA only received an admonishment. But, man, if that hadn’t been the case, that reaction looked like the windup to a mighty benchslap.
