Ty Cobb
Ty Cobb — the former Hogan Lovells partner who left Biglaw to work in Trump’s White House before yeeting out of that job — is back. He’s on the cable news circuit bringing his unique perspective on all the legal troubles of the 45th president. And he thinks the former president is heading to jail.
Not right away, mind you. And not (necessarily) as a result of being convicted of the deluge of felonies he’s been charged with. But because of his near pathological inability to adhere to a court order.
How Innovative Legal Teams Are Turning AI From Promise To Practice
In recent years, AI has moved beyond speculation in the legal industry. What used to be hypothetical is now very real.
Appearing on CNN, Cobb predicted that the limited gag order Judge Tanya Chutkan issued in the federal January 6th case will result in Trump spending “a night or a weekend” in jail — as that’s the only thing that will get through to the former president.

Of course, one of Trump’s attorneys, Alina Habba, has a very different perspective on Trump’s potential jail time for violating the gag order. She wildly suggests the Secret Service will keep him out of jail. Now, you might ask, how would that work? If anything, that might seem like the Secret Service might spend the night in jail *with* Trump. But, appearing on NewsMax, Habba invokes the protection of the Secret Service like it’s a cloak of invisibility that will thwart the court’s ability to enforce its order.
The Trump Gold Card: A New $1 Million Pathway To A U.S. Green Card
A new proposal would let wealthy foreign nationals secure an opportunity for a U.S. green card with a $1 million 'gift' to the government, sparking legal and ethical debate.
He’s protected by Secret Service, period. So I always tell people when they’re panicked, listen, he’s protected by Secret Service, No. 1. No. 2, he did nothing wrong. So when people go to jail it’s because they’ve done something wrong. Do we have crooked situations in and out of court, absolutely. Could they try? Probably, but it won’t work because there is still trial process. There is still facts, and unfortunately they’re not going to win on the facts. Secret Service will always protect President Trump, that’s the truth. They have to, wherever he is.
What???
Alina Habba suggests the judge can’t put Trump in jail for violating the gag order because: “He’s protected by the Secret Service. Period.”pic.twitter.com/aQPLqUQxKe

Trump’s legal problems are unprecedented for a former president. How this all ultimately plays out remains to be seen.
