Illinois Attorneys: Stay Compliant in 2018

Hey Illinois attorneys! Don’t forget – if your last name starts with the letters A through M, you only have until June 30 to finish taking your 30-credit CLE requirement for the 2016 – 2018 compliance period. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to take at least six Professional Responsibility credits as part of the total requirement.

Illinois is very flexible on how attorneys complete their credits. You can complete the requirement by attending a combination of live webcasts and recorded on demand programs that have been approved for CLE credit by the Illinois MCLE Board. Attorneys can also earn credit for, among other activities, teaching approved MCLE courses, completing a mentoring program, and acting as a judge in moot court.

Be sure to keep track of all the credits you’ve earned this cycle (even if they were with another provider!) with Lawline’s free credit tracking tool.

When you finish completing all of your credits, log into the Attorney Portal on the Illinois MCLE Board website by July 31 and enter all of your compliance information. For more information, check out this article or take a look at Lawline’s comprehensive CLE Requirements page.
