Butt-Dial Ends In Clerk’s Ouster

Maybe take a second after hanging up to curse about the judge's decision.

F- – -, I’m not calling John Davis

— Patricia Chastain, formerly the elected clerk of Franklin County, North Carolina, in a butt-dial (It also could’ve been “F- – – John Davis” or “I don’t give a f- – – about John Davis”) covered by ABA Journal. Chastain had demanded a magistrate judge deal with a local dispute. After he refused without more information and Chastain threatened to publicly post his number, the judge told her to take it up with Chief District Judge John Davis. An inadvertent re-dial later, and the magistrate learned that… she was not planning to comply with that request. The North Carolina Supreme Court affirmed a lower court order stripping her of office for this and other offenses.
