Lawyerly Lairs: Justice Sotomayor Está En La Casa

The Wise Latina recently purchased a condo in D.C.'s trendy U Street corridor. How much did she pay, and what does the place look like?

Alas, it’s a shared roof deck — so it’s not clear that a famous resident like Justice Sotomayor would want to spend a lot of time out here, rubbing shoulders with the hoi polloi. But it certainly looks nice enough, with views that are perfectly pleasant, if not spectacular (no great D.C. landmarks):

And it’s huge. Could the Wise Latina reserve it for a rooftop law clerk reunion?

Congratulations to Justice Sotomayor on her lovely and tasteful new home. She has come a long way from the housing projects of the Bronx. At the same time, by choosing to live in an apartment building in the U Street corridor — as opposed to a private home in Georgetown, McLean, or Chevy Chase, where her fellow justices reside — the Wise Latina is keeping it real.

So don’t be fooled by the robes that she’s got. She is still Sonia from the Block!
