Good Grief! 'Charlie Brown' Calls Judge An A**hole

He's accumulated enough criminal charges that it would make sense for him to star in "It's the Great Rap Sheet, Charlie Brown."

If you’re an adult of a certain age, Charlie Brown and the rest of his Peanuts cartoon friends definitely played a role in your childhood. Unfortunately, Peter Robbins, the actor who gave the lovable character a voice when he was a boy, lost his way as an adult, eventually accumulating enough criminal charges that it would make sense for him to star in something we imagine might be called “It’s the Great Rap Sheet, Charlie Brown.” There can’t possibly be a Charlie Brown quote more appropriate for the voice actor’s current situation than this:

Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, “Where have I gone wrong?” Then a voice says to me, “This is going to take more than one night.”

Robbins has racked up charges that range from the mundane (threatening his ex-girlfriend) to the insane (stalking a doctor who performed a breast enlargement on his ex-girlfriend in an attempt to get a refund). When he pleaded guilty to those crimes two years ago, Robbins was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to complete a live-in drug treatment program and fulfill a multitude of other conditions, like wearing a GPS ankle monitor and attending domestic violence awareness classes.

After failing to comply with the terms of his probation, Robbins was re-arrested, and made an appearance in court on Friday, where he was supposed to be sentenced for those violations. Instead, the voice actor went ballistic, screaming and cursing at every lawyer in the room, from his public defender to the prosecutor to the judge himself. From calling the judge an “asshole,” to telling the judge “I hope you drop dead of a heart attack,” to screaming “He’s roughing me up, he’s got a gun, run for your lives!” as a bailiff took him into custody, it’s evident that the grown-up version of Charlie Brown is not a good man.

You absolutely must check out the video of the hearing, captured by CBS News 8, which is definitely worthy of Charlie Brown’s trademark “AAUGH!”
