Changing The Legal Industry? Let's Talk.
Columnist Zach Abramowitz looks to the future of Biglaw.
Other than that, I do not miss Biglaw, but I would be lying if I did not admit that I am curious.
The Biglaw I left at the end of 2012 probably looks and works a little different than the Biglaw of today. How much difference can two and half years make? Moore’s law suggests that technological advances are exponential. And the more legal tech companies I meet, the more I believe we’re going to see a great shift in the way law firms exist and provide service. Traditionally tedious tasks like doc review and diligence charts are are being automated by companies like Kira Systems and Everlaw; companies like Lex Machina and Premonition are analyzing data to predict litigation outcomes.
What is coming in the pipeline and what exactly is the legal industry of the future going to look like? I do not know.
And that’s why I’m enlisting your help. You don’t need to be a smashing startup or a famous investor like (shameless plug alert) Mark Cuban, but if you or someone you know are doing something to change the legal world, I want to hear from you. I want to hear about you and your project, but about I also want to know how you see the future of the legal industry. Send me an email or hit me up on Twitter.
Let’s talk.
