Arguably the most iconic opening voiceover in television history, the A-Team credits set up everything you needed to know about the characters. Crack commando unit, framed for a crime they didn’t commit, escaped, survive helping the less fortunate. How’s that for your Joseph Campbell hero’s journey wrapped into a pithy intro. And best of all, the show resisted the temptation to make a dreadful prequel to show us everything hinted at in the intro and mess up the mythology by telling us about their loyal South Vietnamese friend Jar Jar Nguyen who helped them break out.
Dentons’ Saudi Arabia team, based out of its Riyadh office (and one partner in Jeddah who makes his cameo in the post-credits scene) put together a parody of the A-Team opening complete with lo-fi 80s imagery and its own Howling Mad Murdock with a penchant for eating memos and beating his desk with a shoe. Bravo!
