The Government's Outlook On Jobs For Lawyers Is Bleak

Even the government knows it's tough to get a job as a lawyer -- and now it may get even tougher.

Matt Leichter of The Last Gen X American, commenting on the revised jobs outlook for lawyers that was released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in December 2015. The BLS now estimates that the number of lawyer positions in the United States will increase by only 43,800 jobs from 2014 to 2024.

(In its 2015 report, the BLS warns: “Competition for jobs should continue to be strong because more students are graduating from law school each year than there are jobs available.”)
