What a difference a week makes. Just last Monday, all the associate drones in Biglaw offices around the country were reasonably content with their salary. Now that Cravath has unleashed the new, bigger, better associate compensation grid, no one is happy with yesterday’s paycheck. Anxiously refreshing the Above the Law homepage, young lawyers are waiting for the big players in their city to move to the new scale.
Well, a major Silicon Valley player has made their move. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati announced this evening they too are giving U.S. associates a raise.

The class of 2016 and summer associates will be getting a pay bump too. And the firm says attorneys not on the U.S. associate salary scale, which includes counsel, Of Counsel, staff attorneys, and attorneys in their Brussels office will be dealt with individually.
