The FCC’s new net neutrality rules are but one—albeit major—victory in what will probably be a protracted war over the “open internet.” While Oliver’s Army celebrates the historic win, the immediate reaction of telecom lobby and its Republican allies was to accuse the other side of being technologically backward:
“The Obama Administration needs to get beyond its 1930s rotary-telephone mindset and embrace the future,” fumed Mitchell “Not a Scientist” McConnell.
Verizon, obviously one of the largest stakeholders in this fight, chimed in, via its Policy Blog, “- — -.. .- -.– .—-. … -..” (Morse code: get it?)
