Attorney Misconduct

Lawyer Allegedly Kept Kiddie Porn Treasure Trove In His Home

This attorney is currently being held on $100,000 bond.

Lawyers are accused of performing questionable acts almost every day, but sometimes those alleged acts are so vile, so disgusting, that it’s extremely difficult to take pity upon them.

James Crowley, a 2005 graduate of John Marshall Law, was recently accused of a crime that most assuredly fall into that indefensible category: alleged possession of child pornography. According to the Chicago Tribune, Crowley was arrested earlier this week after police investigated tips that were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children:

Authorities found more than 500 images and 50 videos of children engaged in sex acts on files and DVDs that were removed from Crowley’s Arlington Heights residence during a search, according to charges read into the court record. …

Prosecutors said the images traced to Crowley included children both younger and older than 13 and in some instances depicted children engaged in oral and genital sex with other children.

Crowley’s alleged pornographic predilections were discovered because someone from his IP address using different Twitter accounts both uploaded and downloaded more than 150 inappropriate images featuring children. #gross #eww #nasty

Crowley resigned from Chicago firm Lowis & Gellen last week. In a brief statement, the firm noted that Crowley left the firm “prior to these charges surfacing” and that it would be “cooperating fully in [the judicial] process to the extent we are needed.” The statement concluded: “We are saddened and deeply troubled to learn of the allegations against our former associate, Jamie Crowley.” Everyone should be deeply troubled by child porn.

Crowley is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
