Last week, we received reports from students of an apparent norovirus outbreak at 127 Wall Street. Here’s an excerpt from a message sent out over the YLS list-serv (aka “The Wall”):
— 28 1Ls have experienced gastrointestinal symptoms at last count.
— For most of those students, symptoms began between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
— Most, but not all, of these students ate sandwiches catered by the dining hall during Tuesday lunch events.
So it seems that right now Yale Law isn’t the #1 school or the #5 school, but the #2 school.
In an email sent out on Friday, Dean Robert Post advised that YLS “has been working with Yale Health, the state and city departments of health, and Yale’s Office of Emergency Management on a coordinated response to a suspected occurrence of a norovirus at the Law School.” We reached out to the law school on Friday, and a source from the administration stated that no new cases were reported on Friday, that people are recovering at the expected pace, and that public areas are being thoroughly cleaned and recleaned.
