Happy Friday!
Would a Biglaw firm announce bonuses today? Maybe if bonuses were bad. We’re all familiar with the Friday news dump, defined as “[r]eleasing bad news or documents on a Friday afternoon in an attempt to avoid media scrutiny.”
On the other hand, there is precedent for a Biglaw firm announcing happy bonus news late on a Friday. Back in January 2011, Sullivan & Cromwell announced its celebrated spring bonuses late on a Friday afternoon (our story went up at 5:35 p.m.).

Leveraging agentic AI to triage, prioritize, and automate the law department inbox.
Could we get a bonus announcement later today? It’s possible, although I doubt it. At this point, I’m guessing we’ll have to wait for a Monday announcement from Cravath.
So keep waiting. Sign up for the ATL Bonus Alerts. Flip through our holiday gift guide and figure out how you’ll spend your filthy lucre. For those of you in New York, I recommend splurging on tickets to Hamilton, which I recently saw — and thoroughly enjoyed.
Enjoy the weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday.
P.S. And for those of you in New York, perhaps we can toast bonuses with you on Tuesday night at our holiday party. It’s free and there will be a two-hour open bar, thanks to our friends at Themis Bar Review. You just need to RSVP here.
